This month we will be tasting...

🍂 Bogwood Whispers
This yellowed tea is grown off the eastern shores of Dongting Island and is an excellent example of Junshan Yinzhen, the rival varietal of the traditional Baihao Yinzhen. The flavors are subtle and nuanced, like corn and oats with a meaty backend, but the real treat is the powerful mouthfeel that accompanies it.

🍂 Orchid Aroma Dancong
This Phoenix oolong from Wudong village is a primary example of the flower fragrance dancongs. The roast is lighter on this one, which I love, and brings out much of the fruit and spice of the tea without being weighed down by charcoal flavor. It is buttery, sweet and even savory at times.

🍂 Jin Mudan
Golden Peony is, for me, a rather unconventional Wuyi mountain rock oolong. Jin Mudan is a hybrid of the infamous tieguan yin cultivar and huangjingui (aka golden turtle)
which both are normally grown in Anxi province. The result is incredibly complex ranging from roses and gardenia to butterscotch and dark chocolate. At first it does a great impression of a Phoenix oolong. Aside from rougui, this is my favorite form of rock tea.

🍂 2017 Hei Zhuan
This heavily fermented dark tea from Anhua is exactly what I like hei cha to be; meaty and rich with a light smokiness, oddly refreshing and long lasting. Pressed into 390 gram bricks that are so dense they had to be sawed into smaller cubes for brewing. There's not much else to say, just a prime example of quality dark tea.

Ecstatic Dance is a journey of sound + movement for healing, celebration and communion. We begin with a circle to set the guidelines of the container and initiate a 90-minute journey through sound and movement. Some guidelines include no-talking, staying for the duration, releasing judgement of self and others, and being in your own journey. There is no guidance aside from your inner world. Follow You.

This is a substance-free event; let the music + the dance be thy medicine~

Arrive at least 30-minutes before circle if you would like tea, cacao, or other beverages. An altar will be formed in the space, so please feel free to bring an item you would like to be charged in the energy of the dance!
