This month we will be tasting...
Milk White Fu'an Dabai tea dumpling
This large leaf white tea comes to us from Fujian and is grown at higher elevations than its Fuding counterparts. This tea has a distinct milky aroma and flavor, is surprisingly easy to brew and quite versatile. The abundance of stems add a well rounded sweetness that is incredibly satisfying. I got a bunch of these teas recently just for the shop, but we haven't sold very many which is a travesty for such a delicious and unique tea.
2024 Korean black and Chinese milk oolong with dried apricots stuffed into a tangerine
What a mouthful! We served this tea once before and I've been holding onto this undisturbed orange ever since, waiting for the right time to bring it out again. The aroma of this tea is out of this world and startling. To me it smells like Hummingbird cake, powerfully sweet and complex. This is a tea worth coveting.
Duck Butter Dancong
This oolong tea is an interesting take on a staple here at the tea house, Ya Shi Xiang, aka duck shit aroma. While the name draws a lot of attention and has a fun story behind it, this tea is crowd pleasing for being stone-fruity, floral like violets and with a pleasant bite. This one exentuates the buttery mouthfeel that these teas can exhibit and is easy to drink all the time.
Marshmallow Shu Pu'er
Another returning favorite, I've been holding onto a stash of this tea since last year. It's an extremely "keefy" shu that looks old without feeling old. It lives up to its name with a very soft and fluffy mouthfeel that reminds me of marshmallow root tea. It's buttery without being too funky, it's earthy without having too much rotten stump aroma and, all in all, very satisfying to brew and drink.
see you soon~
SUNDAY 2/1 ECSTATIC DANCE

floor opens at 6:30 | circle begins at 7:00
$20 | reserve ahead of time!! the dance nearly always fills up
Ecstatic Dance is a journey of sound + movement for healing, celebration and communion. We begin with a circle to set the guidelines of the container and initiate a 90-minute journey through sound and movement. Some guidelines include no-talking, staying for the duration, releasing judgement of self and others, and being in your own journey. There is no guidance aside from your inner world. Follow You.
This is a substance-free event; let the music + the dance be thy medicine
Arrive EARLY if you would like tea, cacao, or other beverages. An altar will be formed in the space, so please feel free to bring an item you would like to be charged in the energy of the dance!
See you at the House!!
